The Plan

In an attempt to escape the balmy, frigid, and snowless winter in New England, Augie an I decided to take a trip to L.A. to visit our friend Elliott. During the early planning stages, Sue's Cadillac DeVille died. Sue, Augie's mother, has a brother in San Jose. He just happened to have a car for sale... and guess what? We are going to be just a short flight away from San Jose. When asked if I was interested in making the return drive across the country, I said, "Sure, I'll help drive a big BMW across the country."

Our flight leaves from Boston on Thursday, February 1st around 11am EST, with arrival at LAX around 9pm PST. We plan to hang out with Elliott for the weekend, watch the Super Bowl, and then head north to San Jose to pick up the BMW. Here is a rough idea of the planned return trip. Points of interest include a stop at Park City, Chicago, and many pee breaks in between.

I will do my best to keep you all updated with our daily endeavors.

Enjoy!

I think you guys should skip Chicago. You have already been there. I mean, I hear Chicago is nice, but use the opportunity to visit something far more obscure.

I enjoy going off the beaten path now and then, but, there is a reason that allot of places are obscure...there is not too much going on there. When we were in Chicago last time there were many things that I wanted to do but did not have time for. I am sure that we will spend most of our time in places that you have never heard of, like San Diego and Los Angles. I mean, Wyoming and Nebraska.

“So in America when the sun goes down and I sit on the old broken-down river pier watching the long, long skies over New Jersey and sense all that raw land that rolls in one unbelievable huge bulge over to the West Coast, and all that road going, all the people dreaming in the immensity of it...” (Jack Kerouac)
This is going to be awesome ! Have a nice trip on the road.
