More on Park City

If spending two nights in a luxury condo, riding (or skiing) some of the best slopes that the west has to offer, and drinking 3.2 beer doesn't interest you, don't go to Park City, Utah.

Going back a little bit...

There are a few details that I failed to mention along the way... you'll probably say, "what happened to all of those days in between?" Well, after our stay at Park City, we were informed that there was a storm that would be on our heels. It wasn't that I didn't want to keep you informed, it was more that my sleep, from long driving days, was valued. Also, that I was too busy enjoying a lot of pavement, NPR, crossword puzzles, napping, and taking snap shots.

Back to L.A.
On our last day in LA (Super"lame"bowl Sunday), Elliott took us for a tour of Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Sunset Blvd, Rodeo Drive, and more before heading to the supermarket to get wings and things for the Patriot-less Superbowl.
Here are some pictures:

Back to San Jose:
Monday morning, February 5th, Elliott was kind enough to drive us back to LAX for an 8 o'clock flight to San Jose, CA. This meant leaving early. 6:15 early. The problem wasn't making the 15-20 minute drive to the airport, it was leaving early enough so that Elliott could make it to work for 9 ish. Normally he has about a 15 minute drive to work, but coming from LAX on a Monday morning would not be his normal commute. He saved us about $40.

The flight to San Jose was delayed about 1 hour. No big deal. When we arrived, we took a bus to meet Meredith at her train from San Francisco. From there we took a cab to the suburbs of San Jose to pick up the car at Augie's uncle's house. We had a few hours before we had to drop off Meredith at the airport for the end of her weekend in San Francisco, so we drove the beemer to downtown San Jose for lunch and mild sightseeing.

I'm back. I got back Monday night about 6pm. I had a great time. I will continue to make posts with stories from my trip. ... I'm not going to work until Thursday.

I'm going to brave the snow storm tomorrow, and go snowboarding.

The California Sun and the Best Burger Ever

Clearly I have a lot less time for blogging than I thought. I have finally gotten over my sickness, and I am spending the night in San Jose with some of Augie's relatives. Here are a few pictures from Santa Monica.

This is a picture outside of Father's Office in Santa Monica. A small bar similar in size to Toad in Porter Square, Cambridge. Great beer selection and the best burgers I have ever had.

First two days

I know you're all demanding it...

Day one: Long day of travel. I woke up sick, left my cell phone in my car, and have been unable to relieve the pressure in my ears since we landed. Otherwise, we arrived safely.

Day two:
The weather has been perfect, and we got to spend some good time with an old friend. I know I will feel better tomorrow. Sight seeing planned for tomorrow.

The Plan

In an attempt to escape the balmy, frigid, and snowless winter in New England, Augie an I decided to take a trip to L.A. to visit our friend Elliott. During the early planning stages, Sue's Cadillac DeVille died. Sue, Augie's mother, has a brother in San Jose. He just happened to have a car for sale... and guess what? We are going to be just a short flight away from San Jose. When asked if I was interested in making the return drive across the country, I said, "Sure, I'll help drive a big BMW across the country."

Our flight leaves from Boston on Thursday, February 1st around 11am EST, with arrival at LAX around 9pm PST. We plan to hang out with Elliott for the weekend, watch the Super Bowl, and then head north to San Jose to pick up the BMW. Here is a rough idea of the planned return trip. Points of interest include a stop at Park City, Chicago, and many pee breaks in between.

I will do my best to keep you all updated with our daily endeavors.

Enjoy!
